Your ACSA’s Regional Safety Committees (RSCs) are located in Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Parkland (Red Deer), Lakeland and Wood Buffalo (Fort McMurray).

Their rich understanding of local matters helps to bring safety to the forefront as they promote our shared vision of Lives lived safely.

On May 11, 2021, ACSA staff and RSC Executives met to discuss the impacts of mental health in Alberta’s construction industry. This conversation helped to better equip safety leaders with strategies to address the industry’s growing mental health challenges. A summary of the webinar discussion is available in the Mental Health Matters—An Industry Check-Up Report.

RSC members also test the functionality of our newest on-demand courses, such as the Worksite Investigation Basics (WIB) course released in December 2021. Stakeholder feedback such as this is a valuable process to inform ACSA initiatives, products and services.

Bi-annual meetings are held with RSC Executives to discuss how ACSA can support their endeavours. Quarterly RSC meetings are a forum to provide industry updates, plan community events and network. For example, the Parkland RSC (PRSC) has created the PRSC mock incident video series to educate youth in elementary, middle and high school about the importance of health and safety.
